Sick Chick March 26, 2009

Filed under: Uncategorized — pollyannapickle @ 2:12 am

I have a bird that has come up lame. We are so new to this we don’t really know the cause or what to do. The others were picking on it, so we separated her, but she kept getting stuck on her side and screeching, so now she is just chillin in our laps, dozing. We are going to call the extension office in the morning to see what the recommendation is.

Life Verse March 21, 2009

I think I just found my life verse! It’s funny how God reveals himself sometimes, always with the right verse at the right time.

I have a verse of the day function on my home page and today’s is:

“But blessed is the man who trusts in the LORD, whose confidence is in him. He will be like a tree planted by the water that sends out its roots by the stream. It does not fear when heat comes; its leaves are always green. It has no worries in a year of drought and never fails to bear fruit.” Jer 17:7-8

Amen and AMEN!!!

Compound post March 18, 2009

This post will be quite random indeed and will mix together a few of the entries from my private journal.

On the vivid dreams of pregnancy:
Yesterday, it was sleeping crocodiles.

Last night’s prevailing image was of a phone call. From a can of spaghettios.

The can was on the counter, it started ringing. Knowing that to answer it would be messy (you have to open it to answer it) I hesitated, but had a feeling it was a favorite client that I hadn’t heard from in a while. So I bit the bullet, opened the can and had a pleasent but sloppy conversation with my client. (who knew I was talking on a can and it seemed totally normal to him too)

On the arrival of spring to the farm:
Regardless of what the calender says, spring has come to Eastern TN. You want proof you say?

Temp: 67 degrees

Trees and plants: flowered out and lovely. Bradford pear everywhere, phlox and forsythia, and even red magnolia!

And:

chicks have arrived!

chicks have arrived!

The weather is supposed to get cool again starting tomorrow, but it is supposed to stay sunny at least!

It has come to my attention that there may be some people who do not know that we are expecting a new baby in the fall! We are all very excited, except Alex who is less so because he is not thrilled at the prospect of having to potentially lose his birthday this year and share it from here on out. (My due date is 9-19) So everyone cross your fingers for the baby to come a couple weeks early or late. (9-9-09 sounds like a perfect date to me!)

In addition, we are keeping busy around the farm as well. We are just waiting for the final frost so that it will be safe to get the early gardens in. Keith was busy all last week preparing the fields while the weather was nice. They should be ready to go as soon as spring arrives.

He’s also been busy preparing the chicken house and we’ve been making plans for our renovations on the house. The boys huge room (16×20) will be split into 4 smaller rooms. Nicholas in particular is excited to get his own room, and I get a small space for myself as well for sewing or crafting.

I can’t imagine anything else anyone needs to be caught up on.

I will endeavor to do better with updating this page! I have gotten really behind on news bits!

However, this entry is dedicated to the celebration of sweet Emme’s 4th birthday!  I have been doing a bit of online scrapbooking, let’s see if I can get this working properly.
