Well then.
My life is back into some semblance of order, my mental state is back to (mostly) stable (Thank you, Well butrin).
To put things in little nutshells:
We are going to participate in a Co-op once a week for 3 hrs. It is an hour’s drive away, but we are still really excited about it. The children, including Ms. Pickle (Emme) herself will have 3 classes, and DH and I are going to teach one, a LEGO class. Yep, Lego. If you go to their website, you can see they have an entire curriculum! It’s been nice to have something to look forward to.
Today was a torrent of “business” paperwork to attend to. Hunting down highschool diplomas, tax forms, filling out this, filing that… Monday’s are always nuts with getting the boys to do their work without needing babysitting, and today was a killer for that. So it was a bit of a rough morning.
If it ever stops raining long enough for the lawn to dry out, I can go out and mow for a while to escape!
Last week, the boys were in Summer Week of Choir which resulted in a performance on Friday night and Sunday morning. I was really pleased that for a change Nick was getting into it and doing both the motions and singing as opposed to looking like Cindy Brady with the Red light as he usually does. Alex did his best to keep up, and consistently lagged behind, but put in an effort. The thing with him was when he wasn’t singing, he was wiggling so much he appeared to be uh….”mentally challenged”. Deeply bowing at the waist oh, say, 15 times in a row? Or bending his torso side to side to almost the beat of the music. As if Stevie Wonder had taken over the body of my 5 yr old, and then went a little overboard. Oh, and the FACES he was making! I really was torn between cracking up and being totally embarrassed and not wanting anyone to know that was my kid.
I also got my pc fixed. YEEESSS!! I waited entirely too long to do that. It was the best $50 I ever spent and my old hamster has a new speedy spring in his step. I got a quote on a new pc and am looking forward to getting that, maybe next month. Too bad we don’t have the money right now because we could get in on the tax free holiday next week.
I’m totally jealous of all the gals that went to Blogher. They are all rehashing and linking to one another’s blogs and I read them all and say, Oh! Friday Playdate knows Sarcastic Journalist..cool. I want to go too! It would be like highschool all over again what with the on-the-outside-looking-in thing.
Keith and I are on a weight loss quest. We’ve been at it a week now. He’s lost 6 lbs. I’ve lost zero. And I starved myself all last week. How is that fair?ARRRGH!! But, I’m keeping at it. It’s only been a week. And I’m pmsing, so I’m blaming it on water weight. Wouldn’t you?
